On the Road to Nice
Video gallery from the Marine-based Products and Services Expo at the 5th UN Oceans Forum 2025
In the lead up to the global UN Oceans Conference 2025 to be held in Nice, France, the UN hosted its 5th UN Oceans Forum. During this forum, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and its partners brought together businesses, researchers, and innovators engaged in marine-based products, ocean conservation, and sustainable materials to participate in the Marine-based Products and Services (MAPS) Expo.
Aligned with the 5th Ocean Forum’s theme, “Ocean Economy, Trade Policy, Climate, and Development Nexus,” MAPS Expo showcases pioneering alternatives to conventional plastics, circular economy innovations, sustainable fisheries initiatives, and nature-based solutions that contribute to marine conservation, sustainable ocean use, and coastal livelihoods. This included exhibitions from several of SMEP’s grantees working in the plastic pollution and substitutes and alternative fibre sectors.
Below is a video gallery of key exhibits which participated in the MAPS Expo. You can also find further links to resources in the panel on the right.
